For Authors

Author Guidelines

Everything you need to know before preparing and submitting a manuscript to Review of Public Policy and Social Systems.

01

Submission Policy

Review of Public Policy and Social Systems welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts that are not under consideration elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is their own and that all co-authors have approved the submission.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system available on this website. Authors can access the submission portal via the ‘Submit Manuscript’ button provided on this page. Submissions sent via email are not accepted unless specifically requested by the editorial office.

Simultaneous submission to other journals is not permitted. Authors are expected to notify the editorial office promptly if they wish to withdraw a submission.

02

Manuscript Preparation

Authors are expected to prepare their manuscripts in clear and concise English. Either British or American spelling may be used, provided consistency is maintained throughout the manuscript.

Submissions should be made in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). The manuscript should be typed in a standard, readable font such as Times New Roman (12-point), with double line spacing and standard margins.

While the journal does not impose a strict word limit, research articles are typically expected to range between 6,000 and 8,000 words, including references.

Font Times New Roman, 12pt
Line Spacing Double-spaced

04

Citation and Referencing Style

All manuscripts must follow the APA (7th Edition) referencing style for both in-text citations and the reference list. Consistency and accuracy in referencing are essential — incomplete or incorrect references may lead to delays in the review process.

Authors may refer to the official APA guidelines for detailed formatting instructions: apastyle.apa.org

05

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be used where necessary to support the analysis. Each table or figure must be clearly labeled and accompanied by an appropriate title or caption.

  • Tables and figures should be numbered sequentially
  • Figures should be of sufficient quality to ensure readability in digital format
  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any copyrighted material

06

Supplementary Material

Authors may submit supplementary files such as datasets, additional tables, or supporting documents where relevant. These materials may be made available alongside the published article.

07

Ethical Considerations

Authors are expected to adhere to standard principles of academic integrity and ethical research.

  • All sources must be properly acknowledged
  • Plagiarism, in any form, is not acceptable
  • Any potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed
  • Research involving human participants should comply with appropriate ethical standards
The journal follows established publication ethics practices in line with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE): publicationethics.org

08

Peer Review Process

All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review process. The editorial team reserves the right to make decisions based on the reviewers' recommendations, the quality of the manuscript, and its relevance to the journal's scope.

Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer comments before a final decision is made.

Review Timeline

  • Initial screening: 3–5 days
  • Peer review process: 7–10 days
  • Final decision: 2–3 days

The journal aims to ensure a fast and efficient review process while maintaining high academic standards.

Author and reviewer identities are kept confidential throughout the review process to ensure impartiality and objectivity in evaluation.

09

Final Note

Authors are encouraged to ensure clarity, coherence, and academic rigour in their submissions. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's standards or fall outside its scope may not be considered for review.

If you have questions about whether your manuscript is suitable for the journal, you are welcome to contact the editorial office before submission.
