Publication Ethics

Our commitment to transparency, integrity, and responsible publishing across every stage of the editorial and review process.

01

Our Commitment

Review of Public Policy and Social Systems is committed to maintaining high standards of integrity and transparency in academic publishing. The journal strictly adheres to the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure transparency, integrity, and best practices in scholarly publishing.

All parties involved in the publication process — authors, reviewers, and editors — are expected to adhere to these principles.

02

Responsibilities at a Glance

Each party in the publication process carries distinct responsibilities that together uphold the integrity of scholarly communication.

Authors

Ensure originality, proper attribution, accurate reporting, and disclosure of funding and conflicts of interest.

Reviewers

Provide objective and confidential evaluations, declare conflicts of interest, and decline reviews outside their expertise.

Editors

Ensure fair, unbiased evaluation, maintain confidentiality, and take appropriate action in cases of ethical concern.

03

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are expected to ensure that their work is original and based on accurate and verifiable research. All sources must be properly acknowledged, and appropriate citations should be provided wherever necessary.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal should not be under consideration elsewhere or previously published in any form. Authors are also expected to disclose any financial support, funding sources, or potential conflicts of interest related to their work.

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to the research. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

04

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the quality of the journal. They are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback based on their expertise.

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers should not share or use any information from the manuscript for personal or professional advantage.

If a reviewer feels unqualified to assess a manuscript or identifies a potential conflict of interest, they should inform the editorial team and decline the review.

05

Responsibilities of Editors

The editorial team is responsible for ensuring a fair and unbiased review process. Decisions regarding publication are based on the quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope.

Editors are expected to maintain confidentiality throughout the review process and to avoid any conflicts of interest. In cases where ethical concerns arise, appropriate steps will be taken to investigate and address the issue.

06

Research Ethics

Research involving human participants should be conducted in accordance with accepted ethical standards. Authors should ensure that necessary approvals have been obtained and that participant consent has been appropriately addressed.

Any potential limitations of the research should be clearly acknowledged, along with any factors that may influence the interpretation of results.

07

Plagiarism Policy

The journal has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are checked using standard plagiarism detection tools (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate). Manuscripts with significant similarity or unethical content will be rejected immediately.

08

Retraction Policy

In cases of serious ethical violations, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the published article. Retractions will be clearly indicated and communicated to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

09

Misconduct and Corrective Action

The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of academic misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication.

If ethical concerns are identified at any stage - before or after publication - the editorial team may take appropriate action. This may include rejection of the manuscript, publication of corrections, or retraction of the article where necessary.

Concerns regarding ethical misconduct may be reported to the editorial office. All reports will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines and treated with appropriate confidentiality.
